1. Āyat al-Kursī — The Greatest Verse

اَللّٰهُ لَآ إِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّوْمُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ ۚ لَهُ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِ ۗ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهٕ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِهٖ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ اَيْدِيْهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۚ وَلَا يُحِيْطُوْنَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهٖٓ اِلَّا بِمَا شَاۗءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ ۚ وَلَا يَؤُدُهٝ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيْمُ
Allāhu lā ilāha illā huwa, al-Ḥayyu-l-Qayyūm, lā ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa lā nawm, lahu mā fis-samāwāti wa mā fil-arḍ, man dhal-ladhī yashfa'u 'indahu illā bi-idhnih, ya'lamu mā bayna aydīhim wa mā khalfahum, wa lā yuḥīṭūna bi-shay'im-min 'ilmihī illā bimā shā'a, wasi'a kursiyyuhus-samāwāti wal-arḍ, wa lā ya'ūduhu ḥifẓuhumā, wa huwal-'Aliyyul-'Aẓīm.
Allah — there is no god worthy of worship but Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. Who can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He wills. His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and preserving them tires Him not. He is the Most High, the Most Great.
Tabarānī — whoever recites it in the morning is protected until evening, and whoever recites it in the evening is protected until morning.
2. The Three Quls

قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ، اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ ، لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُوْلَدْ ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ
قُلْ أَعُوْذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ، مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ النَّفّٰثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ
قُلْ أَعُوْذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ، مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ، إِلٰهِ النَّاسِ ، مِنْ شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ، الَّذِيْ يُوَسْوِسُ فِيْ صُدُوْرِ النَّاسِ ، مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ
Qul huwa Allāhu aḥad. Allāhu-ṣ-Ṣamad. Lam yalid wa lam yūlad. Wa lam yakul-lahū kufuwan aḥad.
Qul a'ūdhu bi-Rabbil-falaq. Min sharri mā khalaq. Wa min sharri ghāsiqin idhā waqab. Wa min sharrin-naffāthāti fil-'uqad. Wa min sharri ḥāsidin idhā ḥasad.
Qul a'ūdhu bi-Rabbin-nās. Malikin-nās. Ilāhin-nās. Min sharril-waswāsil-khannās. Alladhī yuwaswisu fī ṣudūrin-nās. Minal-jinnati wan-nās.
Surah al-Ikhlāṣ: Say: He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.
Surah al-Falaq: Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, from the evil of that which He created, and from the evil of darkness when it settles, and from the evil of the blowers of malevolent spells, and from the evil of an envier when he envies.
Surah an-Nās: Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the King of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer — who whispers in the breasts of mankind — from among the jinn and mankind.

Tirmidhī — reciting these three suffices a person against all things.
3. Sayyid al-Istighfār — The Best Supplication for Forgiveness

اَللّٰهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّيْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ ، خَلَقْتَنِيْ وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ ، أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ ، أَبُوْءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَأَبُوْءُ بِذَنْبِيْ فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Allāhumma anta Rabbī, lā ilāha illā anta, khalaqtanī wa ana 'abduka, wa ana 'alā 'ahdika wa wa'dika mas-taṭa'tu, a'ūdhu bika min sharri mā ṣana'tu, abū'u laka bini'matika 'alayya, wa abū'u bidhanbī, faghfir lī fa'innahu lā yaghfirudh-dhunūba illā anta.
O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I try to remain true to my covenant with You as best I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favour upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.
Bukhārī — whoever says it during the day or night with certainty and dies that day or night enters Paradise.
4. Protection from Anxiety, Laziness, Debt & Being Overpowered

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ
Allāhumma innī a'ūdhu bika minal-hammi wal-ḥazan, wa a'ūdhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasal, wa a'ūdhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa a'ūdhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahrir-rijāl
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and grief, I seek refuge in You from incapacity and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and miserliness, and I seek refuge in You from being overcome by debt and overpowered by men.

5. Well-Being in This World & the Next

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِيْ دِيْنِيْ وَدُنْيَايَ وَأَهْلِيْ وَمَالِيْ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِيْ وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِيْ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ احْفَظْنِيْ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِيْ وَعَنْ يَمِيْنِيْ وَعَنْ شِمَالِيْ وَمِنْ فَوْقِيْ وَأَعُوْذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِيْ
Allāhumma innī as'alukal-'āfiyata fid-dunyā wal-ākhirah. Allāhumma innī as'alukal-'afwa wal-'āfiyata fī dīnī wa dunyāya wa ahlī wa mālī. Allāhumma-stur 'awrātī, wa āmin raw'ātī. Allāhumma-ḥfaẓnī min bayni yadayya, wa min khalfī, wa 'an yamīnī, wa 'an shimālī, wa min fawqī, wa a'ūdhu bi'aẓamatika an ughtāla min taḥtī.
O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the next. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my faults and keep me safe from anything that may frighten me. O Allah, guard me from before me, behind me, my right, my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your greatness from being seized from beneath me.

6. Du'ā to Allah, Knower of the Unseen

اَللّٰهُمَّ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ ، فَاطِرَ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ، رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَمَلِيْكَهُ ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَّا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ ، أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِيْ وَمِنْ شَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ ، وَأَنْ أُقْتَرِفَ عَلٰى نَفْسِيْ سُوْءًا أَوْ أَجُرَّهُ إِلٰى مُسْلِمٍ
Allāhumma 'Ālimal-ghaybi wash-shahādah, Fāṭiras-samāwāti wal-arḍ, Rabba kulli shay'in wa malīkah, ash-hadu an lā ilāha illā anta, a'ūdhu bika min sharri nafsī, wa min sharrish-shayṭāni wa shirkih, wa an aqtarifa 'alā nafsī sū'an aw ajurrahu ilā Muslim.
O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord and Sovereign of all things, I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil within myself, from the evil of Satan and his soliciting of partners with You, and from committing wrong against myself or bringing such wrong upon any Muslim.
Tirmidhī
7. Entrusting Every Matter to Allah

يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّوْمُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيْثُ ، أَصْلِحْ لِيْ شَأْنِيْ كُلَّهُ ، وَلَا تَكِلْنِيْ إِلٰى نَفْسِيْ طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ
Yā Ḥayyu Yā Qayyūm, bi-raḥmatika astaghīth, aṣliḥ lī sha'nī kullah, wa lā takilnī ilā nafsī ṭarfata 'ayn
O Ever-Living, O Sustainer of all, by Your mercy I seek help. Set right all of my affairs and do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye.
Nasā'ī
8. Protection from Sudden Harm

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الَّذِيْ لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهٖ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاۗءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ
Bismillāhi-lladhī lā yaḍurru ma'as-mihī shay'un fil-arḍi wa lā fis-samā', wa huwas-Samī'ul-'Alīm
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm; He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Repeat 3×
Abū Dāwūd & Tirmidhī — whoever recites this 3 times will not be struck by sudden affliction that day/night.
9. Ḥasbiyallāh — Sufficient for Me is Allah

حَسْبِيَ اللّٰهُ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ، عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيْمِ
Ḥasbiyallāhu lā ilāha illā huw, 'alayhi tawakkaltu wa huwa Rabbul-'Arshil-'Aẓīm
Allah is sufficient for me; there is no god but Him. I place my trust in Him, He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.
Repeat 7×
Abū Dāwūd — whoever says this, Allah will suffice them in whatever worries them.
10. Subḥānallāhi wa biḥamdih — Glory & Praise to Allah

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ
Subḥānallāhi wa biḥamdih
Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Him.
Repeat 100×
Bukhārī & Muslim — whoever says this 100 times a day will have their sins wiped away, even if they are like the foam of the sea.
11. Lā ilāha illallāh waḥdahu — Renewing Tawḥīd

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ
Lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamd, wa huwa 'alā kulli shay'in qadīr
There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is all praise, and He is over all things capable.
Repeat 100×
Bukhārī — equal in reward to freeing ten slaves, and a protection from Satan that day.
12. Astaghfirullāh — Seeking Forgiveness

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّٰهَ وَأَتُوْبُ إِلَيْهِ
Astaghfirullāha wa atūbu ilayh
I seek Allah's forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance.

Bukhārī — the Prophet ﷺ would say this no fewer than 100 times a day.
13. Entrusting the Day to Allah

اَللّٰهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا ، وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا ، وَبِكَ نَحْيَا ، وَبِكَ نَمُوْتُ ، وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُوْرُ
Allāhumma bika aṣbaḥnā, wa bika amsaynā, wa bika naḥyā, wa bika namūtu, wa ilayka-n-nushūr
O Allah, by You we enter the morning, by You we enter the evening, by You we live, by You we die, and to You is the resurrection.

14. Asking for Knowledge, Provision & Accepted Deeds

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَّافِعًا ، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا ، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
Allāhumma innī as'aluka 'ilman nāfi'an, wa rizqan ṭayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, wholesome provision, and deeds that are accepted.
Ibn Mājah 925 — said after the Fajr prayer.
15. Renewing Tawḥīd at Dawn

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلّٰهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ ، لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ
Aṣbaḥnā wa aṣbaḥal-mulku lillāh, wal-ḥamdu lillāh, lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu wa huwa 'alā kulli shay'in qadīr.
We have entered the morning, and with it all dominion belongs to Allah, and praise belongs to Allah. There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the dominion and His is all praise, and He is over all things capable.

16. Affirming the Fiṭrah This Morning

أَصْبَحْنَا عَلٰى فِطْرَةِ الْإِسْلَامِ ، وَعَلٰى كَلِمَةِ الْإِخْلَاصِ ، وَعَلٰى دِيْنِ نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَعَلٰى مِلَّةِ أَبِيْنَا إِبْرَاهِيْمَ ، حَنِيْفًا مُسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِيْنَ
Aṣbaḥnā 'alā fiṭratil-Islām, wa 'alā kalimatil-ikhlāṣ, wa 'alā dīni nabiyyinā Muḥammadin ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam, wa 'alā millati abīnā Ibrāhīm, ḥanīfan musliman wa mā kāna minal-mushrikīn.
We have entered the morning upon the natural disposition of Islam, the word of sincerity, the religion of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and the way of our father Ibrahim, who was upright and devoted to Allah alone, not among the polytheists.

17. Bearing Witness Each Morning

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَصْبَحْتُ أُشْهِدُكَ ، وَأُشْهِدُ حَمَلَةَ عَرْشِكَ ، وَمَلَائِكَتَكَ ، وَجَمِيْعَ خَلْقِكَ ، أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللّٰهُ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَكَ ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُوْلُكَ
Allāhumma innī aṣbaḥtu ushhiduka, wa ushhidu ḥamalata 'arshika, wa malā'ikataka, wa jamī'a khalqika, annaka anta Allāhu lā ilāha illā anta waḥdaka lā sharīka lak, wa anna Muḥammadan 'abduka wa rasūluk.
O Allah, I have entered this morning and call upon You, the bearers of Your throne, Your angels and all of Your creation to witness that You are Allah, none has the right to be worshipped but You alone, and that Muhammad is Your servant and Messenger.
Repeat 4×
Abū Dāwūd — whoever says this 4 times, Allah will free a quarter of them from the Fire; if 4 times morning and evening, all of them are freed.
18. Beginning the Day with Praise

أَصْبَحْتُ أُثْنِيْ عَلَيْكَ حَمْدًا ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَّا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ
Aṣbaḥtu uthnī 'alayka ḥamdā, wa ash-hadu an lā ilāha illallāh
I have entered the morning praising You, and I bear witness that there is no god but Allah.

Nasā'ī
19. Acknowledging Allah's Favours Each Morning

اَللّٰهُمَّ مَا أَصْبَحَ بِيْ مِنْ نِّعْمَةٍ أَوْ بِأَحَدٍ مِّنْ خَلْقِكَ ، فَمِنْكَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَكَ ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ
Allāhumma mā aṣbaḥa bī min ni'matin aw bi-aḥadin min khalqik, fa-minka waḥdaka lā sharīka lak, fa-lakal-ḥamdu wa lakash-shukr
O Allah, whatever blessing I or any of Your creation have risen upon this morning, is from You alone, without partner. So to You belongs all praise and to You belongs all thanks.
Abū Dāwūd — whoever says this has fulfilled their duty of thankfulness for that day.
20. Entrusting the Night to Allah

اَللّٰهُمَّ بِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا ، وَبِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا ، وَبِكَ نَحْيَا ، وَبِكَ نَمُوْتُ ، وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيْرُ
Allāhumma bika amsaynā, wa bika aṣbaḥnā, wa bika naḥyā, wa bika namūtu, wa ilayka-l-maṣīr
O Allah, by You we enter the evening, by You we enter the morning, by You we live, by You we die, and to You is the return.

21. Renewing Tawḥīd at Dusk

أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلّٰهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ ، لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ
Amsaynā wa amsal-mulku lillāh, wal-ḥamdu lillāh, lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu wa huwa 'alā kulli shay'in qadīr.

Amsaytu uthnī 'alayka ḥamdā, wa ash-hadu an lā ilāha illallāh
I have entered the evening praising You, and I bear witness that there is no god but Allah.

25. Acknowledging Allah's Favours Each Evening
Evening only · long session and longer
اَللّٰهُمَّ مَا أَمْسٰى بِيْ مِنْ نِّعْمَةٍ أَوْ بِأَحَدٍ مِّنْ خَلْقِكَ ، فَمِنْكَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَكَ ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ
Allāhumma mā amsā bī min ni'matin aw bi-aḥadin min khalqik, fa-minka waḥdaka lā sharīka lak, fa-lakal-ḥamdu wa lakash-shukr
O Allah, whatever blessing I or any of Your creation have come upon this evening, is from You alone, without partner. So to You belongs all praise and to You belongs all thanks.
Abū Dāwūd — whoever says this has fulfilled their duty of thankfulness for that night.
26. Contentment with Allah

رَضِيْتُ بِاللّٰهِ رَبًّا ، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِيْنًا ، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيًّا
Raḍītu billāhi Rabbā, wa bil-Islāmi dīnā, wa bi-Muḥammadin (ﷺ) Nabiyyā
I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad ﷺ as my Prophet.

Aḥmad — Allah guarantees the pleasure of Paradise for whoever says this.
27. Refuge in Allah's Perfect Words

أَعُوْذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللّٰهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
A'ūdhu bi-kalimātillāhit-tāmmāti min sharri mā khalaq
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

Muslim — protects from harm wherever one stops or stays.
28. Glorifying Allah Without Limit
Morning & evening · long session and longer
سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ عَدَدَ خَلْقِهٖ ، وَرِضَا نَفْسِهٖ ، وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهٖ ، وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهٖ
Subḥānallāhi wa biḥamdihī 'adada khalqih, wa riḍā nafsih, wa zinata 'arshih, wa midāda kalimātih
Glory and praise be to Allah, by the number of His creation, by His pleasure, by the weight of His Throne, and by the extent of His words.

29. Sending Peace upon the Prophet ﷺ

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلٰى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ
Allāhumma ṣalli wa sallim 'alā Nabiyyinā Muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad.
Repeat 10×
Customary salawat — Allah sends ten blessings on whoever sends one blessing upon the Prophet ﷺ.
30. Asking for Health & Sound Senses

اَللّٰهُمَّ عَافِنِيْ فِيْ بَدَنِيْ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ عَافِنِيْ فِيْ سَمْعِيْ ، اَللّٰهُمَّ عَافِنِيْ فِيْ بَصَرِيْ
Allāhumma 'āfinī fī badanī, Allāhumma 'āfinī fī sam'ī, Allāhumma 'āfinī fī baṣarī
O Allah, grant well-being to my body. O Allah, grant well-being to my hearing. O Allah, grant well-being to my sight.
